important News For Hockey Parents
Hello Hockey Parents,
To say that this past summer was a challenge would be a gross understatement. Your executive has
worked tirelessly to stay ahead of the curve in the Niagara Region so that we could hit the ice running
when the Province lifted the Covid restrictions. We are proud to have been among the first centers to
host organized skates for our members. We are also proud to be among the first centers to have a
return to play initiative that was ready to go as soon as the new season officially opened on September
1 st .
As of today, we have offered a great number of our kids who were registered with us last season as
many as 13 hours of on-ice instruction and development, as well as 7-8 hours for our new registrants
since the new season officially began.
Hopefully by now most, if not all of you have read the 2020/2021 Season Update as posted on our main
page by Rich Gillies, which outlines our plans for the next few months.
As you may or may not know we have been hit hard with the financial stresses of losing most of our
Bingo funding, as well as all of our Tournament income for the foreseeable future. As such, it becomes
paramount that we all do our best to pay the modified registration fees as soon as possible so that we
can make sure that the financial commitments that we have made to the Town of Fort Erie, True Stride
Hockey, and local equipment and jersey suppliers are met on time and without disruption.
The deadline has been set for October 15 for registration payments to be completed. Since we have
already lost a number of kids whom decided to opt out of this season after attending the first few skates
it becomes even more vital to the success of our plans that we get full commitment from everyone who
plans to participate this season.
Once the October 15 deadline is reached, we will be splitting the players into teams of 10 for 3-on-3
purposes. Only players whose registrations have been paid will be placed on teams. Players whose
registrations have not been paid will be placed on a wait list until payment is made and we can find a
spot for them to play. This is why it is crucial to the success of this season that everyone pays on or
before the deadline.
If you have applied for financial assistance and are waiting for a response, please let me know so that it
can be recorded. If you have any questions or concerns I can always be reached at
[email protected]
Thank You,
Greg Vamplew
