RESPECT IN SPORT PARENT PROGRAM - MANDATORY FOR ALL GFEMHA PARTICIPANTS

‘Respect in Hockey’ is a concept that receives considerable attention in both minor hockey and in community sport. We are committed to the prevention of abuse, bullying and harassment, and the education of our membership.  Greater Fort Erie Minor Hockey Association will move to become a complete ‘Respect’ integrated association effective the 2014-2015 season.

At least one parent or guardian of each player registered in GFEMHA (exception - Beginner Program), will be required to complete the Respect in Sport - Parent Program as a condition of participation (even if you have already taken the Team Leader Respect in Sport).

The one-hour online course is a proactive, educational program that empowers parents with the tools to ensure the game is enjoyable and respectful for themselves, their children and all other stakeholders in the game.

There is a $12 fee for the program - you can either pay online and complete the program, or we will be setting up times/dates where you will be able to come into the office and pay by cash and complete the program.

Please note that this course is mandatory for all GFEMHA participants regardless of whether they are in the house league or travel program. The program must be completed before the first fall ice time

If you have already completed the PARENT program for another sport, you do not need to re-take it, you just need to log in and link the course to your child’s hockey registration.

NOTE - EVEN IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TEAM OFFICIAL RESPECT IN SPORT PROGRAM, ONE PARENT MUST STILL TAKE THE PARENT RESPECT IN SPORT PROGRAM.

GFEMHA CODE OF CONDUCT

We expect our participants and adults to show respect and sportsmanship at all GFEMHA sanctioned activities and to that end, we have implemented a Code of Conduct which includes consequences for contraventions of the Code.  Please ensure that you read and familiarize yourself with the Code and Incident Reporting Form.
