House League Announcement

They are by division. Birth years have been indicated to let you know what time and group you are in.

House League Announcement from your HL VP,

Hi everyone and thank you for your patience during the beginning of this season. As a board we have spent a lot of time figuring out some of the new procedures due to the Covid Pandemic. We are glad we have now gotten to a point where I can share with you the plans for the upcoming season. First and foremost, I want to make sure that everyone is aware of the Vaccination rules for this year. All players and volunteers who are eligible must be vaccinated by Nov 1st to be rostered with the exception of those with medical or religious exemptions. These policies have been put in place by the Alliance and OMHA and cannot be changed or altered by the GFEMHA.

Also, any spectator must be vaccinated as of Sept 22nd to enter the arena. This is part of the Government of Ontario vaccination passport and is controlled entirely by the Town of Fort Erie. We have no ability to make any exceptions for any reason and anything like this must be done through the Town.

Ok, now onto the Hockey.

The beginners program will be starting on October 16th. The skates will be once a week on Saturday mornings. The players will skate for a couple of weeks while they are being evaluated. Once this is completed they will be split into groups based on skill level to allow players to develop at a similar pace and not get discouraged. Emails will be going out shortly about equipment.

All other divisions will have their first skate on October 9th. Please watch the website for times.

The U7 group which also consists of the U6 and U5 players will skate on Mondays and Saturday morning. The season will start as 2 practices per week and eventually transition into a game Saturday and a practice on Monday.

The U8 group will be the first division that will participate in the NDLL. They will have a practice on Mondays and will play games on Saturdays and Sundays depending on the center they are playing against. These games will be half ice and they will not keep score.

The U9 group will also be participating in the NDLL. They will have practices on Tuesday and games will be on Saturday or Sunday, again depending on the center they are playing against. The season will start with half ice games and change to full ice in the middle of January.

The U11 division will again play in the NDLL. They will also have practice on Tuesday. Their games will be mainly on Saturday and Sunday but we do start to see some weekday games, usually when a game needs to be rescheduled due to weather or ice availability.

The U13 division will also be involved in the NDLL. They will have practice on Thursday with games on Saturdays. Similar to the U11 division, they will have most games on the weekend but we do start to see some more weekday games at this level.

The U15 division is another NDLL division. They will have practices on Thursday but this division will see even more weekday games.

The U18 division is extremely similar to the U15 division. We will have practices on either Tuesday or Thursday and you will see games on both weekends and weekdays depending on the centers we are playing in.

For those new to our programs here, the NDLL is the Niagara District Local League. It is a house league level league that consists of most of the centers in the Niagara Region. Most information on the centers involved can be found at

Last thing before we see you on October 9th or 16th, all registration fees must be paid for prior to your first skate. If for some reason this is not possible, please contact the treasurer to make arrangements prior to showing up for the first skate. Also, if for any reason you will not be able to meet any of the vaccination restrictions, please contact us and lets us know so we can remove your registration and issue you a refund prior to your first skate.

We look forward to a great season getting back on the ice, and again, thank you for your patience.
